Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to stand here today to convey
a few things about the Natural Beauty of Indonesian past and present.
Discuss about Indonesia now, it is definitely different with
Indonesia in the past. As we all know, Indonesia is a fertile country, a
country rich in natural resources. Stretches from Sabang to Merauke, a lot of
the islands are very beautiful. Indonesia consists of five large islands,
including Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua Island. Among that
island, it is definitely storing various natural resources are very abundant.
For instance, the beauty of Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur Temple in
Yogyakarta, The Raja Ampat Islands in Papua, and many other exotic places
scattered across the archipelago.
As I mentioned earlier, Indonesia is a fertile country. Many
of nickname given to our country. Like Emerald Equator, A Country with Thousand
Islands, and much more. But is our country now still same as our old country?
Indonesia today is
different from Indonesia in the past. Once our country is fertile, save millions of
precious wealth. Once we are very abundant forest, until Indonesian forest
called lungs of the World. our main sea products are very diverse, ranging from
marine plants, and animals. Not to mention the results of our mines are very
large amounts. Indeed, a very rich country, isn’t it?
But, at this time, is Indonesia can still be regarded as a
rich country? Is Indonesia can still be considered as a fertile country?
Hundreds of hectares forest cut down, hundreds of plantations burned, millions
of animals are hunted, by whom? By people who are not responsible! They deliberately
to clear land for their own benefit, they deliberately to clear land for
building housing, luxury apartments, luxury hotels, supermarkets, and others.
Then where are our fertile forests? Where are our abundant seafood? Are we
still a beautiful country? Are we still a rich country?
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is appropriate that we as good
citizens to keep and still preserve the beauty and natural wealth of Indonesia.
Of course we don't want Indonesia which had beautiful nature, now just a
memory? Come on, we have to preserve our country. Begin by throw the rubbish in
the trash, get used to a clean lifestyle, and keep caring for the environment.
By planting trees we also can participate in caring for the environment. Don't
forget to save energy for the sake of our children and grandchildren living in
the future.
Let’s keep the natural beauty of Indonesia! Start from the
little things, start from ourselves, and start from now. Because if not us who
care, who will?
That’s all from me, sorry if there are mistakes. Thank you
for your attention.
Wassalamu'alaikum wr. Wb.
